Happy Anniversary

This month is the 35th anniversary of Beverly Johnson’s history making American Vogue cover. Beverly was the first black woman ever on the cover of American Vogue in 1974, and paved the way for today’s black supermodels like Naomi Campbell and Tyra Banks and more recently Jourdan Dunn and Chanel Iman. Throughout her 30 year career Beverly Johnson has graced the cover of hundreds of magazines, including being the first black woman on the cover of French Elle.

Ms. Johnson continues to make her mark on the industry with a successful wig and hair product line. She currently serves as a judge on She’s Got The Look, a modeling competition for women over 35.

Happy Aniversary to Ms. Beverly Johnson a beautiful brown icon!
